Accredited Product Advisor (APA)
By holding the Accredited Product Advisor (APA) designation (appropriate to the product module(s) you have successfully completed) you will fulfil the Central Bank’s Minimum Competency Code requirement to hold a relevant designation in order to sell, advise on, or undertake specified functions for one or more of the following five categories of retail financial products:
Life assurance
Pensions
Savings and investments
Housing loans, home reversion agreements and associated insurances
Consumer credit agreements and associated insurances
The APA designation will enhance your career prospects for attaining a role in retail financial services, i.e. banking, life-assurance companies, credit unions or brokers relevant to the designation you hold It is also the first step towards a career as a financial advisor or financial planner. Holding the designation is also an important step on the pathway to becoming a Certified Financial Planner ©.
