Introducing IOB Learn:

New UX Updates to IOB Learn (August 2021):

Here's a quick guide on how to use IOB Learn.

IOB Learn User Guide

Where can I find the app?

Our app is called IOB Learn and can be found and downloaded in Apple App Store for Apple devices and Google Play Store for Android devices.

What can I access on the app?

You can access all the content as on the desktop. More details on the use of the app are available in the IOB Learn user guide.

Do I use same log in details to log into the app as on the website and desktop version?

Yes, you use your membership number or email (that we have on our records for you) and password as you would when logging through a desktop browser.

Will the app waste my battery?

It will not waste more battery than if you were logging in and using the platform through a browser. Some content such as a video, on the browser and the app, may use up more battery life than general browsing.

Why am I being asked to select learning goals/areas of interest and my skills?

Selecting learning goals/areas of interest and skills allows for a more personalised experience on the platform. Once you’ve indicated your preferences to us, we can serve you content based on your interests. You are required to select at least one learning goal/area of interest before proceeding and skills can be skipped.

Is the app tracking my data?

The app is tracking user data to gather general information about the services you are using. We will use this data to help improve the platform experience.

Will I be asked about learning goals/areas of interest and my skills every time I log in?

No, you will not. You will only be asked the first time you log in.

How do I access the CPD supports to view my CPD hours log, record hours, access eCPD etc?

When you log into IOB Learn on www.iob.ie click on IOB Members. Click Access My CPD. This will redirect you to the overview CPD page that you are already familiar with. Once you click on Go for your particular designation you will have access to view and record CPD hours, complete eCPD modules, access CPD downloads and submit accreditation requests. A more detailed step-by-step guide is available in the IOB Learn User Guide.

I am registered for a module, how can I access the module material?

If you are registered for Trimester 2 the module material will be available from Monday, 8 February. To access the material click on the module name under My Learning Plan. Then click on the module card and View more which will bring you to the module material. A more detailed step-by-step guide is available in the IOB Learn User Guide.

I completed some of the content on IOB Learn but did not receive CPD hours, why is this the case?

Not all content on IOB Learn is accredited for CPD hours. Our micro content will give you a short piece of learning on a specific topic by an expert in the field. These micro learnings are short videos, podcast and articles ranging from 5 minutes to 60 minutes. Some of the content is created by our own lecturers and some if it is sourced from other education organisations. The nature of this type of learning does not meet the formal criteria for CPD hours accreditation, for example, some of it is too short (less than 30 minutes) and there are no assessments required for completion.

How can I check that the content I am completing on IOB Learn is accredited for CPD hours and relevant to my designation?

As usual all eCPD modules will be accredited and relevant to the designation that you are viewing. For events, you need to view the information that will inform you if the event/content is accredited for CPD hours and for which designations.
